Turn a GDevelop web export into a link you can send to players. Lobsite hosts the exported game on its own HTTPS address, with no page around the canvas. Drop the folder above, keep the link in a free account and add your own domain when you're ready.
How it works
- Export a web build. In GDevelop's publishing options, choose the web export that writes files for manual upload. Export to a local folder rather than sharing an editor preview.
- Publish the folder. Find
index.htmlin the export and drop that folder or its ZIP above. You can also runnpx lobsite ./exportif you saved the build inexport/. An anonymous deploy lasts 6 hours. - Keep the playable link. Choose Keep it free → to claim it. Export again after changing the game, then update that site so existing links still work.
Your project and your published game
The GDevelop project file holds the game's editable scenes and events. The web export contains the runtime and assets a player needs. Upload the exported files together, keeping index.html at the top and media in the folders the export created.
GDevelop also has its own publishing route through gd.games. This page covers hosting the exported files at a Lobsite address or on your domain. The official publishing guide explains the available export choices.
Size your export for the hosting plan
Free includes 100 files, 50 MB in total and a maximum of 5 MB for any one file. A game with many backgrounds, music tracks and separate sound effects can hit the file count before storage fills up. Inspect the exported folder and remove unused resources in the project before exporting again.
This page's drop box publishes up to 25 MB at once; larger uploads use the CLI or the signed-in dashboard. Standard allows 10,000 files, 2 GB total and 100 MB per file. See the HTML5 hosting limits before picking a plan.
Test the services your events call
Events that call external leaderboards, authentication or multiplayer services still depend on those services after publishing. Test their configuration at the actual game URL, and use HTTPS endpoints. Lobsite hosts the game files; it doesn't replace the services your game connects to.
Use npx lobsite --preview for a separate playtest build after claiming the site. Check touch input, camera scaling and audio on a real phone as well as in the editor preview. If the browser console shows missing images, compare the exact spelling and case of the requested paths with the export.
A deploy without an account is live for 6 hours. The claim link keeps it, free.
Preview before going live. Roll back in one click, redirects and all.
Files are stored by their hash. Redeploying an unchanged site uploads 0 bytes.
Every site gets a *.lobsite.app address with HTTPS from the first deploy.
Free accounts included: add one DNS record and the site moves to your domain. Every site has HTTPS on any plan.
Redirects, headers and forms live in lobsite.toml and travel with each deploy.
GDevelop sharing options
| Option | What gets shared | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| GDevelop editor preview | A test of the project while editing | Checking events and scenes during development |
| A Lobsite web deployment | A playable release at its own URL | Remote playtests, a standalone game or your domain |
| An exported folder or ZIP | The files that make up the web game | Delivery to a hosting service or publishing partner |

Frequently asked questions
Which GDevelop files should I upload to Lobsite?
Upload the manually exported web game's complete folder, with index.html at its top level. The editable project JSON alone isn't playable by a browser.
Can I host GDevelop on my own domain?
Yes. Claim the Lobsite game first, then connect a domain to the site. Custom domains are available on Free as well as Standard.
Will GDevelop online services keep working on Lobsite?
They can, provided the exported game and the service are configured for that use. Check service requirements and test the deployed URL. Lobsite doesn't supply a game backend.
Can I update a GDevelop game without sending players a new link?
Yes. Claim the first deployment and publish later exports to that site. Its live address stays the same; preview builds have separate URLs for testing.
