A marketing website (the homepage, product and pricing pages, a contact form, maybe a few case studies) rarely needs a server. It needs to load fast, collect leads and change without breaking. Built as a static site, with Astro, Next.js export, a site builder's export or plain HTML, it can be hosted on Lobsite: deploy the built folder with npx lobsite or drop it in the box above, and point your forms at Lobsite instead of a backend.
How it works
- Build the site and deploy the output folder:
npx lobsitein the project, or drop the folder here. The first deploy needs no account and is live for 6 hours. - Point your forms at
/_lobsite/forms/contact(any name works). They're found at deploy time, with spam filtering added for you. - Keep the site in your account with the claim link. From then on, submissions land in your inbox in the dashboard and in your email.
Contact forms without a backend
A form needs only its action changed:
<form method="post" action="/_lobsite/forms/contact">
<input name="email" type="email" required>
<textarea name="message"></textarea>
<button>Send</button>
</form>
Lobsite adds a honeypot, timing checks and rate limits against spam, stores each submission and emails it to you. On the free plan, forms have a monthly quota per site and notify your account email; the paid plan, coming soon, adds webhooks so each lead can go straight to your CRM, and any verified address for notifications. More in the forms guide.
Changing the site without the risk
Marketing sites change often: a new headline, a launch page, a pricing update. Each deploy gets its own URL, so lobsite deploy --preview gives the team a link to the new version while the live site stays as it is; lobsite promote makes it live when everyone has signed off. If a change goes wrong, lobsite rollback puts the previous version back in one step, redirects and headers included, without uploading anything.
Search and sharing
Every page is a plain file served over HTTPS, which is what search engines and link previews read best. Redirects for moved pages and response headers live in lobsite.toml and travel with each deploy. The Meta Tag Generator writes the title, description and Open Graph tags that decide how a page looks in search results and when it's shared; the robots.txt and sitemap generators cover the rest.
Point a form at /_lobsite/forms/contact. Spam filtering included.
Preview before going live. Roll back in one click, redirects and all.
Free accounts included: add one DNS record and the site moves to your domain. Every site has HTTPS on any plan.
Redirects, headers and forms live in lobsite.toml and travel with each deploy.
Every site gets a *.lobsite.app address with HTTPS from the first deploy.
Files are stored by their hash. Redeploying an unchanged site uploads 0 bytes.
Where to host a marketing site
| Lobsite | Webflow, Squarespace | Netlify, Vercel | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How you build | Any static generator, or by hand | Their visual editor | Any framework, built on their servers |
| Deploy | One command or a drop | Press Publish | Push to Git |
| Contact forms | Built in, once the site is in an account | Built in | Netlify Forms; on Vercel, a third-party service |
| Preview before going live | A preview URL per deploy | Staging on some plans | A preview URL per deploy |
| Custom domain | Yes, free | Paid plans | Yes |
A visual builder suits a team that wants to edit pages without code. Netlify and Vercel suit sites that need server functions. Lobsite suits a site that's already static and needs fast deploys, previews and forms, with nothing else to run.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my company's domain?
Yes, with the paid plan, which is coming soon: add a CNAME record and Lobsite issues and renews the HTTPS certificate. Until then the site has a *.lobsite.app address.
Where do contact form submissions go?
To the site's inbox in the Lobsite dashboard, and by email to your account address. Webhooks to your own URL, CRM or automation tool come with the paid plan, coming soon.
Can I see how many people visit the site?
Analytics with page views, top pages and referrers come with the paid plan, coming soon. Until then, any script-based analytics tool you add to your pages works as it would on any host.
Can my whole team deploy?
On the paid plan, coming soon, the owner can invite a second person with their own login, and CI tokens let a pipeline deploy chosen sites. On the free plan, one account deploys.
