Phaser game hosting

Host your Phaser game from its built folder. Deploy with one command or a drop, share playtest previews, and keep the game on your own domain.

For a Phaser project with a build script: build first, then deploy the output. Plain HTML projects can be dropped above.
Drop an HTML file, a folder or a .zip Checked in your browser; nothing is uploaded until you publish.

Your Phaser game runs in the browser, so publishing it means putting its HTML, JavaScript and assets online together. Drop the built folder in the box above, or deploy it from your terminal. Players get a direct *.lobsite.app link with HTTPS and the whole window for your game.

How it works

  1. Build your Phaser project. If your template has a build script, run npm run build. A Vite-based template usually writes dist/. For a plain HTML project, collect index.html, Phaser and your assets in one folder.
  2. Publish the playable folder. Drop it or a ZIP above, or run npx lobsite after the build. Use npx lobsite ./dist to name the folder explicitly. A first deploy needs no account and lasts 6 hours.
  3. Keep the game's address. Follow the claim link or choose Keep it free →. Rebuild and deploy again when the game changes; the live URL stays the same.

Build output, not the development server

The address printed by npm run dev only works while that server runs. Publish the production output instead, with index.html at its top level. Lobsite serves those files; it doesn't install packages or build Phaser for you.

For a Vite template, see the Vite hosting guide. Keep assets referenced by your game inside the build, or use HTTPS URLs for external assets. File names are case-sensitive online: a request for hero.png won't find Hero.png.

Make the game ready for players

  • Start sound from an interaction. Give players a start button or another click before playing audio; browsers restrict autoplay.
  • Check the canvas on a phone. Test your Phaser scale settings, orientation and touch controls at the live URL.
  • Keep services separate. A multiplayer server, leaderboard or account service must run elsewhere. Browser code can call it, but private API keys don't belong in the uploaded JavaScript.
  • Check your asset budget. Free allows 50 MB in total, 5 MB per file and 100 files. Large audio tracks or sprite sheets can decide whether the game fits. The HTML5 hosting guide lists Standard's limits too.

Share a Phaser playtest

After keeping the site, run npx lobsite --preview after a build to give testers a separate version without replacing the live game. Files are stored by hash, so an unchanged soundtrack isn't uploaded again when you adjust a level. Add a custom domain when you want the link to match your game's name.

No account to try it

A deploy without an account is live for 6 hours. The claim link keeps it, free.

Every deploy gets a URL

Preview before going live. Roll back in one click, redirects and all.

Only changed files upload

Files are stored by their hash. Redeploying an unchanged site uploads 0 bytes.

HTTPS everywhere

Every site gets a *.lobsite.app address with HTTPS from the first deploy.

Your own domain

Free accounts included: add one DNS record and the site moves to your domain. Every site has HTTPS on any plan.

Config in one file

Redirects, headers and forms live in lobsite.toml and travel with each deploy.

Ways to share a Phaser build

Method What players open When it helps
Lobsite Your game at a direct HTTPS address A standalone release, your domain or separate playtest builds
A local development server An address on your machine or network Testing while you code
A downloadable ZIP Files they must unpack and serve Giving another developer a build to inspect

For another JavaScript game framework or an editor export, start with HTML5 game hosting. For Phaser installation and templates, use the official Phaser guide.

Frequently asked questions

Does Lobsite run my Phaser build script?

No. Run the build locally or in CI, then publish its output folder. The command above assumes your project has an npm run build script.

Can I publish Phaser without Vite?

Yes. A folder containing an HTML entry point, your game scripts and assets is enough. You can also load Phaser from an HTTPS CDN.

Why are my Phaser sprites missing after deployment?

Check the browser's Network panel for missing files. Match file-name case, include every asset in the output and check whether paths assume a different folder.

Is a Phaser game free to host on Lobsite?

Yes, within Free's file, storage and bandwidth limits. Anonymous links expire after 6 hours; keeping the game in a free account removes that expiry. Free includes a small bottom-right Lobsite badge.
