# Markdown to Web Page

Convert Markdown to a clean, styled HTML page, preview it, and publish it to a live URL in one click. Free, no account needed.

Use it at https://lobsite.com/tools/markdown-to-html

## How to use it

1. Write Markdown in the editor, open a `.md` file, or start from the sample.
2. Pick a style: Clean, Serif or Dark. The page title comes from your first heading; type another one to override it.
3. Press **Publish this page** for a live link, or open **The page's HTML** to copy or download `index.html`.

## What the page includes

The result is one self-contained HTML file: your Markdown as HTML, a `<title>`, a mobile viewport and a small stylesheet, with no scripts and nothing loaded from other sites. Headings, lists, links, images, block quotes, code blocks, tables and task lists (GitHub-flavoured Markdown) all work. HTML inside your Markdown is kept as you wrote it, so you can drop in an embed or a `<details>` block.

## Good uses

- Release notes, a changelog or a one-page announcement.
- A README or a write-up from an AI assistant, as a page you can send.
- Event details, a reading list, a simple CV.

For a site with several pages, a static site generator such as Astro, Eleventy or Hugo turns a folder of Markdown into pages; deploy its output folder with `npx lobsite`.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which Markdown does it understand?

GitHub-flavoured Markdown: everything in the original syntax plus tables, task lists, strikethrough and fenced code blocks.

### Can I use my own CSS?

Yes. Download the HTML from **The page's HTML** and edit the `<style>` block, or paste a `<style>` element into the Markdown itself. To keep editing it here after that, use the [HTML Viewer](https://lobsite.com/tools/html-viewer).

### Is my text uploaded?

Not while you write: the conversion and the preview run in your browser. It's sent to Lobsite only when you press **Publish this page**.

### How long does a published page stay up?

Six hours without an account. Use **Keep it free →** after publishing to keep it in a free account, with the same address.
